Introduction:
In December 2019, I found myself in a rather unexpected situation while preparing a remedy called seamoss. Seamoss, known for containing 92 essential minerals, proved to be a mishap waiting to happen. In the course of boiling it, I made a crucial error that led to an incident I would never forget.
The Incident:
Rather than patiently waiting for the seamoss to cool down, I impulsively decided to blend it while it was still hot. Little did I know that this impulsive decision would have startling consequences. The lid of the liquidiser exploded, sending hot liquid all over my face and neck, even down to my chin. In a state of shock, I immediately submerged my face in cold water to mitigate the potential damage.
The Aftermath:
As the evening progressed, my face started to blister, and the pain became unbearable. Desperate for relief, I applied cold seamoss to my face, hoping it would soothe the burns. However, the severity of the situation prompted me to seek professional medical help.
Seeking Medical Attention:
The following morning, I headed to the Burns unit in Chelmsford, where I consulted with a plastic surgeon. Much to my relief, he assured me that I wouldn’t require plastic surgery and that my face had miraculously healed. Intrigued by my rapid recovery, the surgeon inquired about the cause of the accident. When I revealed it was due to seamoss, he expressed astonishment at my speedy healing and further assured me that I wouldn’t be left with any permanent scars.
Conclusion:
While my encounter with seamoss was undoubtedly a harrowing experience, it serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of patience and proper handling of substances, especially those with potentially harmful consequences. My before and after photos stand as a testament to the resilience of the human body and the significance of seeking timely medical attention in the face of adversity.
